Hi! I am Alex Ovcharenko and I work for many years with interaction and UX design of complex systems, especially in maritime industry. Also I worked with healthcare systems and medical equipment (like X-ray devices), SCADA systems and so on. I’ve been participating in international standards writing, guided a team of UX designers, assisted in internal organizational activities to arrange work processes that support systems approach and knowledge sharing.
Right now I live and work in Norway, and in my spare time I write in this blog or sail and renovate my pretty old sailboat, among other things.
This project is dedicated to the user experience and interaction design of professional and complex software and hardware systems. I believe that they require their own approach, especially in details, compared to more mass-market systems.
Here I’m not limiting myself with purely UX- and UI-related topics, because any design activity is multidisciplinary and requires holistic approach, so I also write about conceptual activities, organizing work processes, internal educational activities and so on. Basically, about all the stuff that may assist to make the products and companies more friendly and valuable to the users and customers.
